According to Barack, Reggie Love was slipping a little today!
I was a volunteer today at his closed event in Las Vegas. After his talk on the mortgage crisis, Obama was making his rounds, shaking hands, taking pictures, etc. He came to a table of elderly Latino women who began to maul him: hugs, kiss, putting books and magazines in his hands to sign. Obama looked around and said "Where's Reggie?" Reggie came running over "My bad" and Obama said "You're not doing your job". I think Obama saw the butt-hurt look on his face, so he said, "Come on man" gave him a playful smile, and nudged him with his elbow.
Obama conintued to shake hands, and I ran around behind him to get back in the line to take a picture for my friend. There was an elderly man there who is friend's with Obama's grandmother; earlier he had stood up and told Barack he had taken out his sister and grandma Dunham for Mother's Day. Someone was asking Reggie about it (because the man had given Reggie a photo album he wanted Obama to sign) and Reggie said, loud enough for Obama to hear "Yeah he said he was friends with Barack's grandma a long time ago, back when Barack didn't have gray hair, and it was thicker" Barack glanced at him with an evil grin, like he was already thinking of payback.
Aside from all that, the talk about the mortgage crisis was really good. Barack knows his stuff, and he didn't let people gloss over details. People would say they can't afford their payments, and he'd keep digging away for the exact details. He wants to help people keep their homes, or get back in them, but only if they were responsible when going forward and buying their home.
